Kim Scott, the ex-wife of Eminem, reportedly crashed her car this week while her son and his friends were also in the vehicle.
Em met Kim as a teenager in 1988, marrying in 1999 and 2006. They eventually divorced in 2007.
According to TMZ, court records show that Kim was charged with operating a vehicle while intoxicated and failure to stop or identify after causing property damage.
The incident reportedly took place in Michigan at around 8pm on February 16th, where Kim was taking her son Parker and three others shopping.
However, Kim allegedly hit a parked car and refused to stop. She reportedly continued driving and tried to pull into her driveway, crashing her Range Rover into the garage door.
A neighbour called the police after the incident occurred. Officers took her to the hospital for injuries and she was discharged on February 17th.
Her lawyer, Michael Smith, stated that Kim hadn’t been arrested. If a warrant is issued, he says she will turn herself in, describing her as “a good person, a beautiful human being.”
Eminem and Kim share one daughter, 30-year-old Hailie Jade. The Detroit rapper has rapped about Kim many times throughout his career, naming a song after her on 2000’s The Marshall Mathers LP.
The lyrics discuss his hatred towards her, with the track ending with him killing her and putting her in the back of his car.
The pair met at a house party when Em was 15, and Kim was 13. Speaking to Rolling Stone, he said, “I said to my friend’s sister, ‘Yo, who was that? She’s kinda hot.’ And the saga began. Now there’s the constant struggle of, ‘Will I ever meet somebody else that’s gonna be real with me, as real as I can say she’s been with me?’”
