Charlie Puth performed The National Anthem at Super Bowl LX in Santa Clara, California, on Sunday, February 8, kicking off the 2026 Super Bowl, which finds the Seattle Seahawks facing off against the New England Patriots.

The 34-year-old pop sensation delivered a stunning rendition of “The Star-Spangled Banner” live during America’s most-watched sporting event. All eyes were on the four-time GRAMMY nominee as he took to the Levi’s Stadium field to perform the patriotic track.

Donning denim pants and a white shirt complete with a tie and leather jacket, Puth allowed his unique vocals to shine as he put his own signature twist on our nation’s anthem. He played his Rhodes keyboard while singing the patriotic track accompanied by an orchestra.

Puth, who is gearing up to release his fourth studio album, Whatever’s Clever!, on March 27, was joined by the Armed Forces color guard and the drummers from The Army Field Band. He delivered an impressive rendition of our nation’s anthem as the Seahawks and Patriots watched on from the sidelines.

Charlie Puth’s National Anthem performance lasted approximately 2 minutes and 15 seconds.

His performance concluded with soaring vocals and a flyover conducted by the U.S. Air Force, U.S. Navy, and U.S. National Guard.

On behalf of the National Association of the Deaf (NAD), Fred Beam performed The National Anthem in American Sign Language.

With his performance, Puth became the first New Jersey native to perform the National Anthem at the Super Bowl since Whitney Houston’s iconic rendition in 1991. He also follows in the footsteps of previous singers of The National Anthem, such as Jon Batiste, Reba McEntire, Chris Stapleton, Mickey Guyton, Eric Church & Jazmine Sullivan, Demi Lovato, Gladys Knight, Pink, Luke Bryan, Lady Gaga, Idina Menzel, Renee Fleming, Alicia Keys, Kelly Clarkson, Christina Aguilera, Carrie Underwood, Jennifer Hudson, Jordin Sparks, and more.

Before the Big Game, Puth opened up about what he hopes viewers will take from his performance of The National Anthem.

“I want them to feel inspired, [and] I want everybody to know that music is such an amazing thing and can change so many people’s lives. I mean, other than food, it’s the thing that we can all… it’s like everybody loves music. I’ve never met someone who doesn’t love music. And I just think it can color every aspect of your day so vividly. And it’s such an honor to sit here and talk to you about how I’m singing, how we’re all… I mean, we probably share that same feeling,” Puth previously explained during the Apple Music Halftime Show press conference while seated alongside fellow pregame performers Brandi Carlile and Coco Jones.

Puth performed The National Anthem shortly before 6:30 p.m. EST kickoff.

Additionally, Bad Bunny will deliver the Apple Music Super Bowl Halftime Show, which will be a production put on in conjunction with Apple Music, Roc Nation, and Jay-Z.

Super Bowl LX took place on February 8, 2026, at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, California, and featured the Seattle Seahawks facing off against the New England Patriots. The game aired on NBC and streamed on Peacock, with pregame coverage beginning at 1 p.m. EST.
